About UsDr. Brian Field BDS FRACDS Brian studied at Otago University, where he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, winning the Henry K. Ellison prize for conservative and restorative dentistry. As a result of his success, Brian continued his studies at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in London. Brian’s experience as a dental surgeon in London gave him access to the leading techniques employed in Britain & Europe at the time and provided a solid grounding for his return to New Zealand where Brian gained his fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Brian’s early career in general dentistry and maxillo-facial surgery gradually led to an increased focus on cosmetic procedures and high-grade general dentistry. Brian has owned and directed dental practices in the Waikato and West Auckland regions prior to relocating to Auckland to open a practice in Queen Streets Landmark house, catering for the total dental needs of professional clientele and families alike. As a dedicated advocate for the New Zealand dental profession, Brian has consistently occupied positions of responsibility and leadership throughout his career, serving as Honorary Secretary Treasurer of the New Zealand region of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons from 1985-1991 and then as its Chairman from 1995-2001. Brian is also a member of the NZDA and a founding member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In 1995, the opportunity to relocate to the stunning penthouse suite (complete with historic clocktower) on the 8th floor of Landmark House saw Brian expand his practice to its current charming surrounds. Jayde Baker NZ CERT DA Jayde joined Brian Field Dentists in 2005. In 2006 she qualified as a dental assistant, graduating with the NZDA Certificate in Dental Assisting. She enjoyed this role and was a capable and motivated assistant to Brian. In 2008, Jayde’s thorough knowledge of the practice, the needs of its patients and her warm and caring nature saw her take on the position of Practice Manager, a role she has filled with passion and dedication. Shannon Hird Shannon joined Brian Field Dentists in 2008 as a bright and enthusiastic assistant to Brian in the surgery and is currently studying towards her NZDA Certificate in Dental Assisting.
